Thor Harris is a gentleman in every sense of the word. He resides in Austin Texas, is a talented musician, affordable plumber, and a very handy carpenter. He has percussed for Swans, Shearwater, Bill Callahan and too many others in your extremely well curated (cough) music collection. If you haven't viewed his dissertation on depression and mental illness please do so now. He told us he loves Coptic Light but we love him more.
All great cults/organizations/parties/lifestyles need an equally veritable name. When ruminating on what to call ourselves we were struck by this piece from Morton Feldman, a major figure in 20th century music composition. A floating, unencumbered rhythmic process, pitch shadings that free fall into a soft focus, quietly intense and always evolving. Also our friend (and no slouch as a master modern composer himself) Fred Lonberg-Holm saw it's premier with the New York Philharmonic back in the day and ranks it as one his favorite symphonic works of all time.
Coffees selected for Coptic Light’s Ascension line are satisfyingly balanced, possessing delicate yet familiarly sweet notes which will appeal to all coffee drinkers.
Roaster's approach: "I wanted to highlight the elegant florals and lemon candy which made me fall in love with this coffee yet still anchor the tasting experience with a comforting finish of milk chocolate and roasted almonds. On top of all of that, I also wanted to coax out the coffee's luscious velvety mouthfeel."
