Situated in the Arsi region near the village of Werka next to the Nensebo river, the Gora Kone washing station provides an income for 700-800 smallholders. Coffees are grown at exceedingly high altitudes ranging from 1900-2050 masl and fermented for 42-46 hours. Every 12 hours the water is changed fresh from the Gerenbicho river, an affluent of the Nensebo river. The coffee is then dried for 10 to 12 days and laid to rest for 30 days. The result is a wonderfully creamy and juicy coffee full of berries, lime, and smooth white chocolate.
