Located in northeast El Salvador in the lesser known region of Chalatenango, La Palma is a picturesque town with a cool climate, beautiful landscapes, and a thriving artisan community. Often referred to as "the cradle of peace," La Palma was also the site of the peace talks between the guerrillas and the El Salvadoran government in 1984.
La Palma producers grow coffee on the slopes and mountains of the Ilamatepec – Metapan range. Our friends at Caravela coffee have built relationships and work directly with the producers, providing technical support including improving infrastructure for water treatment, fermentation, and cherry drying. Coffees are carefully cupped at the ground level and lots selected based on quality so there is 100% traceability.
We were especially drawn to this lot for its comforting profile with notes of milk chocolate, candied pecans, and caramel with a balanced body. Please enjoy!
