You can find Fazenda do Cedro amidst the Ilicínea mountains of the Chapadão region, which borders the Serra da Boa Esperança State Park. Ilicínea stands out because of its elevation, and Fazenda do Cedro sits at 1150 to 1400 masl which is extremely high for Brazil.
Sebastião Aluísio de Sales began working at Fazenda do Cedro in 1983 as a manager for his father-in-law. After a decade and a half of hard work, Sebastião took over the Fazenda with the help of his partner, Eduardo Moraes Ferreira. Today, Sebastião, his wife Karla, and their three children, Rodrigo, Gabriel, and Gustavo, manage the farm.
Because of the heights and the micro-climate of Fazenda do Cedro, Sebastião is able to produce flavor-rich specialty coffees. Additionally, his best-practice harvesting and processing methods only enhances these flavors from the coffee terroir. Fazenda do Cedro coffees are featured and recognized world-wide, including the Cup of Excellence, so we are excited to present one of these lots to you today.
